Welcome to Differently Wellbeing 2.0

We’ve been working behind the scenes on something pretty exciting…

Differently Wellbeing has a new owner!

Imogen has officially taken over from Emily, who’s staying on board and working alongside her through the transition.

So, what does that actually mean?

Well, we’re taking everything we’ve learnt from years of working with brilliant businesses and practitioners, adding a fresh pair of eyes (and a lot of ideas), and building Differently Wellbeing for what we think workplaces need next.

Our mission is simple:

Put people's wellbeing at the centre of every business.

Not just a fruit bowl in the kitchen. Not a mindfulness app nobody opens. Not a policy nobody reads. Something that shapes how a business actually operates.

Because the reality right now isn't great.

  • Only 10% of UK employees are engaged at work - the lowest rate in Europe, according to Gallup.

  • Work-related stress, depression and anxiety hit a record high last year, accounting for 22.1 million working days lost, according to the HSE.

  • Work-related mental health problems are estimated to cost the UK economy £57.4 billion a year, according to Mental Health First Aid England.

And this needs to change.

We don't have to accept that work will make us miserable, stressed and unhealthy.

A healthier workforce is better for people and better for business. Those two things aren't in competition, despite what some old-school management thinking might have us believe.

Deloitte estimates that every £1 invested in workforce mental health generates a £4.70 return through increased productivity.

So workplace wellbeing isn't just a nice perk to bolt onto a benefits package.

It's good for people. And it's good business.

But here's what the numbers don't tell you

The stats are important. But they're not really why we do this.

We do it because of what happens in the room.

We've seen people arrive at sessions exhausted, overwhelmed, in pain or running on fumes - the kind of tired that a coffee and a long weekend aren't going to fix.

We've seen someone have a five-minute conversation with a practitioner that finally prompts them to seek proper support, after months of putting it off.

We've seen someone walk into a session they'd nearly skipped and walk out visibly more capable of dealing with whatever the rest of their day had in store.

We've seen people laugh.

Breathe.

Move.

Connect.

Take an actual break.

Sometimes the impact of a wellbeing session is tiny.

Sometimes it's huge.

And most of the time, it doesn't show up neatly in a report or a quarterly KPI.

But to the person it happens to, it can mean an awful lot.

That's what we want to create more of.

Not more sessions for the sake of having more sessions.

More genuinely useful, accessible ways for people to feel better in their bodies, their minds and their working lives.

And more of those little moments that can change the course of someone's day.

So, what's changing?

With Imogen taking over, we're bringing together everything Emily and the Differently Wellbeing team have built so far with a new perspective and a bigger ambition for where this can go.

Imogen brings years of experience working inside corporates, alongside her background in yoga, somatics, wellbeing and coaching.

Emily brings the knowledge, relationships and experience of building Differently Wellbeing into what it is today - and she's staying right here, working alongside Imogen through the transition.

So you're not losing the Differently you've come to know.

We're building on it.

What won't change is the thing that matters most: the quality of the people we work with and the experience we create for your teams.

What will change is how ambitious we are about what workplace wellbeing can look like.

Because we think London is ready for something better.

And we'd rather ask you than guess

We could sit here and tell you what we think businesses need.

But you're the people actually living it.

So we'd love to hear from you.

What do your people need right now?

What are you hearing?

What are they struggling with?

What keeps coming up in conversations, one-to-ones, team meetings - or in those little comments people make just before a meeting starts?

Tell us - reply to this post or send us a message.

We want to listen.

Because what you tell us will help shape what we build next.

Here's to Differently Wellbeing 2.0.

And to putting people's wellbeing at the centre of every business.
