Day 2/ 31 CASE STUDIES: STRESS AWARENESS MONTH

Day 2/31: What your competitors are doing for their teams & customers

👀My HOT TAKE: Nearly all workplace “stress talks” don’t reduce stress. Not short term, and certainly not long term. They just explain 'it'… while people sit there, still stressed

April is Stress Awareness Month, so here’s a client feature:Client: SEPHORA UK - London HQ. What we did:

• At-desk relaxation sessions

• Desk yoga (yes, in actual work clothes, no floor required)

• Interactive workshop on the science of stress

Not fluffy. Not “just breathe and you’ll be fine.” We broke down what is ACTUALLY happening in your body and nervous system→ what causes stress (including HIDDEN DAILY SNEAKIES), and what the biological reactions are that bring it about→ why you feel wired, tired, snappy, overwhelmed→ what to do about it in real time. It was such an effective session, because once people understand the biology, they stopped blaming themselves…and were able to interrupt the spiral

Now here’s where it gets interesting

👇Some of the biggest contributors to daily stress at work aren’t (just) deadlines or difficult colleagues…they’re habits. Tiny ones, that are repeated daily. Which of these did you know were wreaking havoc on your nervous system?🙈 Caffeine on an empty stomach→ can spike cortisol + blood sugar, leaving you jittery then drained🙈 Fasted workouts, first thing→ increase your stress response early, which can compound across the day🙈 Stacking stressor→ coffee + no food + workout + straight into emails. Your body doesn’t separate these. It just reads: “we are under pressure”🙈 Caffeine straight after training→ delays your shift into recovery mode (where repair actually happens)🙈 Back-to-back meetings, zero breathing space→ keeps your nervous system in a constant low-level stress loop. These aren't ideal on their own, but layered together, day after day… they REALLY add up.This is what we in the wellness industry are slowly starting to truly understand. And I don't want it to be another 10-20 years until everyone working in the corporate world is able to get access to this knowledge too. So, stress talks: are they a good use of an hour, or did you feel like it wasted your time?
