THE LAST RIDE: IMMERSIVE TALK WITH VR HEADSETS

  • From executive producer Gillian Anderson comes a new film: THE LAST RIDE

“UNTIL NOW, NOBODY HAS CLIMBED UP AND SKIED DOWN THE SEVEN CONTINENTS’ TALLEST MOUNTAINS. AND IF THEY’RE NOT QUICK, NOBODY EVER WILL”

With 3 different talk themes to choose from (Training and Nutrition, Environment and Climate, Mental Health & Risk), be completely blown away by the unprecendented feat that 3 British adventurers are undertaking in their attempt to scale and ski down the highest peak on every continent, before it’s too late.

With the dramatic tension of 14 PEAKS and FREE SOLO, the film follows a trio of friends - British ski mountaineers Ed, Will and Jon - as they are pushed to their limits to achieve an unthinkable feat: climbing and skiing the Seven Summits.

Culminating in a record-breaking mission to summit Mount Everest, we capture every epic high and crashing low as they contend with avalanches, life-and-death decisions, injury, self-doubt and even tragic loss.

What starts as the ultimate adventure soon becomes something far more momentous as – confronted with rapidly disappearing snow – it’s a race against time to ski the Seven Summits before they are gone forever.

With the ambition and scale of BEFORE THE FLOOD, as Ed, Will and Jon begin to question the survival of their sport, the survival of our very life source is thrown into sharp focus, revealing powerful truths about global warming and the future of humanity.

    • Education about climate and environmental issues

    • Inspiration and education as to risk management, and supporting your mental health in a high stress, live-or-die scenario

    • Inspiration and understanding of training and nutrition for high stress situations

    • Inspiration on achieving the impossible

  • In these talks, you will be shown part of The Last Ride film with 2-3 of the current team of adventurers, and hear from them as to their first hand accounts of attempting the impossible.

Each talk comes with several Google VR headsets, allowing attendees to experience first-hand what the ascent and descent of some of the most dangerous places on earth, really looks and feels like. Without having to go there themselves!

  • 60-120mins - adjustable depending on time available to you

  • Starts from £1000 per session

  • EDWARD SALISBURY - SKI MOUNTAINEER

Ed is a former professional freeskier and member of Team GB. Thanks to his father’s passion for the sport, he grew up immersed in the world of skiing and mountaineering. Showing almost no fear from a young age, he became the youngest person in the world to perform a double front flip, won the British championship aged 13 and signed his first professional contract shortly after. By age 16 he was competing for Team GB and pushing for an Olympic medal.

A serious injury dashed these dreams just short of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, shifting his focus to backcountry skiing, which he now does for the joy of it. But it’s not without its own risks. Last year, while training for the Seven Summits, Ed was buried in an almost-fatal avalanche (caught on his helmet GoPro).

This near-death experience has prompted him to rethink the risks he takes on the mountains and forced him to consider how his safety impacts those around him. Namely his father, who feels responsible for having introduced him to sport, and his girlfriend, who has reluctantly learned to accept the dangers that come with Ed’s lifestyle.

    WILL TUCKER - SKI MOUNTAINEER

As a former ski racer who represented England, Will has been on snow since the age of two. Now a professional freeskier, he’s the strongest skier in the team and is a judge for the Olympics Freestyle events. He spends half the year living in Switzerland to be closer to the mountains, where he and his girlfriend Anna – also a professional skier and winter sports pundit – spend their weekends climbing and skiing the toughest mountains in Europe.

Will has always had a fire in his belly and a fierce desire to prove himself. However, while training for this adventure in 2022, he experienced a terrible tragedy that has changed him and his approach to risk forever. He witnessed his close friend and climbing partner fall to his death while they were climbing together on Mont Blanc. In highly traumatic circumstances, Will was forced to spend the night on the mountain alone before finally being rescued.

In the months since, Will has grappled with PTSD and questioned his ability to continue the mission. Having lost so many friends to the sport and witnessed the harm it does to their friends and family, he is now constantly questioning whether the dangerous quest they are embarking on is worth it to achieve their dreams.

JON MOY - FILMMAKER & SKI MOUNTAINEER

Jon shares the same passion for adventure and love of the mountains as Will and Ed. Yet his professional experience in these landscapes is somewhat different; he is first-and-foremost a filmmaker, rather than an athlete.

Despite his skill as a skier and experience working on snow, climbing and extreme altitude are entirely new to him. He has worked with professional athletes his entire career, yet this is the first time he has been required to also perform on the same level as them to get the job done.

Jon suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder and episodes of insomnia and the strain of The Last Ride has brought old demons to the surface. As a result of these challenges, Jon is wrestling with imposter syndrome and feels immense pressure to deliver beyond his capabilities.
